White-Rodgers 1F95-1291 with outdoor temperature sensor
Single stage Heil Furnace
Single Stage Heil heat pump
Honeywell TrueSteam Humidifier
I have to put in new thermostat wiring and I'd like to put in 18/10 but I can't find any locally. I can get 18/7 and that might work.
For the 18/7 wire, I think I can do this:
RH - red to R on furnace and R on Truesteam
C - blue to C on furnace and heatpump and Truesteam
Y - yellow to Y on heatpump
W - white to W on furnace
G - green to G on furnace and GT on TrueSteam
O - orange to O on heatpump
HM - brown to HUM on TrueSteam
My HVAC guy may leave the jumper from RH to RC, but he might want to connect the R on the heatpump to the RC, so I'll put in a separate 18/2 for that just in case.
I will also put in a separate shielded 18/3 for the outdoor temperature sensor, since White-Rodgers recommends shielded wire for this.
Comments, suggestions, rants?

White-Rodgers 1F95-1291 with
Honeywell TrueSteam Humidifier
TrueSTEAM is not going to work with this T-stat.

The Honeywell IAQ t-stat will be the best fit for you, and you don't have to fish new wires up to the t-stat. IAQ only uses 3 wires.
18-10 is almost unheard of.
What type of humidistat did you get with the TrueSTEAM?

Why would the TrueSTEAM not work with the 1F95-1291 stat?
I didn't buy the TrueSTEAM yet, so no humdistat either. The `1F95-1291 has a humdistat built in.

You could use the White-Rodgers if you add a relay between the t-stat, and the TrueSTEAM.
The Honeywell IAQ don't need a relay between the two.
The TrueSTEAM can come with the IAQ t-stat, and will be easier to install with out fishing up new wires up the wall.

The TrueSTEAM uses 24V control wiring. No relay is required.

You still need a relay.. The T-stat's HM provides power, and the TrueSTEAM provides power as well, so if you put the two together, you are to short out the transformer.
So, that's why I suggest the IAQ t-stat, you won't need to fish wire up to the t-stat, and have a relay between the two.
