We are about to purchase some new pre-hung entry doors for our home. One front door, one door from the garage to enter the home, and another door to enter the garage from outside. Home Depot charges $250 per door for installation. We feel this is a little on the steep side. What are your opinions? I'm not sure what type of contractor to call to get competitive quotes. Would I call a carpenter or another professional? I want to make sure we call and hire someone who has experience and who is qualified to do this. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Shawn

You have it right...a carpenter..
A GOOD handyman service could do it also...but that can be kind of hit and miss unless you already know someone.
One thing...$250 may really not be that far out of line for your area...and you have a big store you can always find and complain to about problems. You can also be assured they are insured, bonded, and licensed. Unfortunately (from experience) you really don't have a choice in who does the work..some are good...some....not so much.
I had more than one customer who came back and said.."My guy messed it up..can you send someone to fix it"?
