I want to build a pad for under my wood stove. The manufacturers of wood stoves I've ck'ed with recomend an R-value of 1.0 for a stove pad. Would tile and cement backer board give this R value?

Thanks
Gerald

It might...but you'll probably have to double the backer somehow.

Heres a good list...http://www.warmfloor.com/english/handbook/STEP_Warmfloor.pdf/0.6._Efficiency/6.2.%20R-Values%20for%20Building%20Materials.pdf
