I have a 2 Car Garage in NJ. But In winter it gets very cold. I was thinking to insulate the garage. It is a finished garage meaning sheetrock and the cieling. What should I consider and what should I start to look at. Please give me any ideas.
Next .. I have a finished basement and there is a laundry area where I din't finish the walls there is a electrical and heater area where I din't finish it meaning no sheetrock. I have the basement wall then french drain, after that i have the studs and then sheetrock. We have R13 insulation but we still cannot use the basement because it is very cold.. Any suggestions. I was thinking to put the Pink ( Sheets ) of insulation against the wall whereever i can against the wall to see how much cold it can take away... any ideas.

I'm doing my garage right now with blown in cellulose.
It's messy as hell but it doesn't itch you just have to wear goggles and a mask.
It's probably the cheapest option for insulating with sheetrock up. I drilled 3 inch hole in each wall cavity with a hole saw. The machine blew it in real nice. Finishing the ceiling tomorrow 15 inches up there.
