Hi, I previously had a Honeywell ChronoTherm IV Plus thermostat and upgraded it to the Prestige. The only wires it had connected to it were:
Red wire--> R
White wire --> W
Yellow wire --> Y
Green Wire --> G
As a note, the R & Rc were jumpered on the ChronoTherm IV installation.
The AC/Heating unit is a Lenox G61MP gas furnace i believe.
I transferred those existing wires to the Honeywell Prestige Thermostat and plugged the unit into the wallplate and the screen shows nothing. I'm not sure what I did wrong or what I didn't do or am missing. Can someone please help?
I was reading on some threads that I need a Common wire? If my existing one didn't have a common wire hooked up, should it still work on the new Honeywell Prestige unit?

Since you have posted the G61MP model #, make sure that is the model.. If so, please let me know..
We should be able to take a full advantage of the two stage on this furnace!

Hi Jay11J, the manual left over by the previous owner of my house states G61MP series. I opened the front panel and looked at the circuit board and imprinted on it states 2 stage. I found where the connection on the board where the thermostat wires go to. I presume the C from the furnace needs to be connected to the C on the Honeywell Thermostat in order for the touch screen to turn on. Correct?
Also, how can I take advantage of the 2 stage? and could you describe a little about what the 2 stages do? I saw some dip switches on the board, but is there any additional connection needed to be made besides the, R, G, Y, W, & C to the thermostat?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge as I am new to this.

Correct, hook up the blue wire to both C's.
Also, how can I take advantage of the 2 stage? and could you describe a little about what the 2 stages do?
Two stage on a two stage t-stat is going to give you a better comfort. On a cold snap, the furnace will only cycle 2nd stage as needed rather than a fixed 10 minute timer.
Being that you are in GA, you may not see 2nd stage come on as much other than from set back recovery.
So, on the T-stat, you need to wire up W2 to one of your used wire and wire that to W2 on the furnace.
On the furnace, there is a jumper that needs to be changed to two stage.. The jumper on under dipswitch 1 to 3 (E20) needs to be moved to TWO.
Since we have extra wires, I'd like to take a full advantage of the dehumidifcation control since you are down south!
At the t-stat, you need to add a small jumper wire from one of the R's down to DHUM1. Then DHUM2 use another of your unused wire and wire it to DS on the furnace. Then Jumper W914 needs to be cut.
On the dip switch settings, can you tell me what they are all set to? (1-3 and 5-12)
Also give me the full model # on the furnace and A/C unit outside. I want to make sure all the switches are set correct to give you the full comfort.

Hi Jay11J, the model i believe for the
1) furnace 50M61-120-03
I couldn't find the placard for the furnace for some reason. This number was off the circuit board from where the connections are made.

2) AC unit Lennox - HS26-048-5P
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_VifKLuB1RsQ/SshV7pzGZiI/AAAAAAAAEr8/0avkaBJ1jVM/s400/ACunit.jpg
I've wired the C connection with the blue wire and the orange wire for the W2 connections on the furnace and T-Stat. The jumper on E20 is set to 2 stage as opposed to 1 stage.
I added a jumper wire from Rh to the first DHM on the T-Stat and on the DHM2, i used the brown wire to the T-Stat, but I didn't see the DS connector on the furnace. Can you point me to where it would be? Also for W914, I didn't see any jumper.

Also, since I am located in Northern California, should I still setup the dehumidifier? I took some pictures but don't know how to post it.
Also, I only have 4 dip switches on the furnace circuit board. It is 1-4. First 1 dip switch is off (down) and 2,3,4 are up (on). I didn't see any other dip switches.

Hi Jay11J, the model i believe for the
1) furnace 50M61-120-03
Wow, how big is the house?
I couldn't find the placard for the furnace for some reason.
Most of the time it's up in the burner area on the side.
It sounds like you don't have variable speed blower.

Hi Jay, I found the model number.
G61MP-48C-090-02
my house is only 1500 sq ft. Was the AC unit or Furnace overkill? Also, besides the W2 wires for the 2 stage heating, do I still do the dehumidifier setup? As for the dip switches, are they correct?
Thanks again.

Ok, I am not able to find your model. Just keep getting the variable speed model, and your is not. So the DHUM will not be used. Just undo the DHUM wires, and leave it all be.
Your furnace is some what large for your mild weather in the winter, but it may be needed cuz of your A/C is a larger unit.. I'm sure you r summer are hot. At first I thought your furnace was 120,000 BTU, but when you posted the correcect model #, it's a 90,000 BTU.
I'm in Minnesota, and I have a 1,700 sq ft home, and have 60,000 BTU for our Minnesota winter.. (Can see as low -20˚) and it keeps up just fine.
Since I can't find the manual for your furnace, see if you have a manual left behind or info on back of the blower door showing what your dipswitch settings mean.

Hi Jay, I found the manual online for the SureLight 46M9901 model. On page 2 on the top diagram, it has my board inside my furnace. Page 7 talks a little about my 2 stage setup. Page 8 has the DIP switch settings for the time I think. Just reading it doesn't seem to affect much since it is all left at factory default.

Your dipswtiches are nothing major for me to worry about, just leave them as they are.
On the CPH (Cycle per hour) settings in the setup menu, set them to 3/High Eff. furnace

Thanks, will do.
In some of the setup options:
I presume mine is a conventional 2H/1C ? The only option that comes close to it is 2H/2C... Now that I know I have a 2 stage heater, is there something that shows that I have a 2 stage cooler? If so, will I need to hook Y2 besides Y1?
Thanks!!

Your A/C is a single stage unit, so 2h/1C for the set up.

Jay, just wanted to say thanks for helping out a Newbie. Got everything hooked up and running. It was the common wire that got the screen to light up. One last question is the CPH for the AC unit. Should I leave it on the default of 5?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Glad to hear it's up and running.
I like to set the CPH for heating at 3, and cooling at 2.
