I got a used mouse with the little wheel thingy (is this what is know as an optical mouse?).
It doesn't work with our backup Wdo95 computer. Aren't they compatable?

Depends on what brand a model number the thingy is. You're still running W95?

With a new device for Windows 95, you will need to find a compatible driver.

The wheel makes it a wheel mouse. You can get ball or optical versions (the bottom that is, most mouse wheels work the same way) . You will need a driver to use the wheel, and connect it with PS2.
