I have light beige carpeting and honey oak woodwork and tables with varied shades of blues (sky, medium, navy, etc.) in my furniture. Previously painted the walls a cream. Just tried a blue with grey undertones but I think it looks bad with the woodwork and know it would help if the woodwork was white. However, since this is a rental and a small room, I can't paint the woodwork. Any suggestions on other color choices that won't make the oak woodwork look drab? I want to make the room warmer and flow with the rest of the neutrals and varied pastel shades of the other rooms.

Hi as colors are visual perceptions, can you post a picture?

In order to set an image here follow these easy steps-->
1 - upload your picture to a free online photoalbum like Photobucket or Flickr , for example
2 - Look for the link of your picture (usually, photoalbums provide a "link for a forum" script) --> copy the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located),
3 - In the DIY Forum--> Reply post or open a new post--> Press the 'Insert Image' icon above and paste the link--> or type before the URL and after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image

Sorry. I have no pictures and I don't have a way to get one.

(The following colors are from the Sherwin Williams catalogue)

I'd start with just one wall using SW 6040 Less Brown or 6039 Poised Taupe or 6082 Cobble Brown. From there, you can go all the way to a 6073 Perfect Greige or a 6080 Utterly Beige

You already tried cream and a blue with gray tones; working with honey oak cabs and variety of blue colors in furniture in a small room... I think you might like Gobi Desert - a Behr neutral taupe color. You may also like Victorian Gold - a Kelley Moore warm color, but barely warm, still blends fine with pastels in other rooms. If you go darker in a small room, not the best idea. I would try those two or something in that color spectrum for your situation. Good luck!

Sorry I did not respond sooner, but had computer problems. Really like the idea of the Victorian gold. Any chance you know of a simular color put out by either Lucite or Dutch Boy?
