I just bought a LUX TX1500E as a replacement tstat for our radiant floor, single zone heating system. One-story house.

Two questions: On the wiring diagram for our system - a two wire heat-only system there is a jumper between RH and RC. The existing red wire from the old tstat should go to RH. I assume I leave the jumper on, correct?

Second Question: We just put a woodstove in our living room right next to the tstat location on the wall. I know I have to move it so I planned on just going through the wall's other side and mounting the tstat there - it would then be in a hallway leading to the bedrooms. Any reason not to do that?

Thanks!

Yep, you can leave it be.

Go ahead and move it if you have enough wire to come out the otherside. Make sure you turn off the power on the boiler before you do this.

Well as it turns out I do have one more quesstion. I went to move the wire from the thermostat and found (of course) that it isn't long enough so I will need to splice a foot or two of additional wire onto the existing. Since this is the typical red/white solid-copper wire is it acceptable to splice a similar piece onto the existing using wirenuts or is there another method that is suggested? Thanks again!

yes, you can splice the wire with wire nut behind the wall. After you put the nut on, wrap it in electrical tape, so the nut can't come undone for some reason.
