I have a 40" entrance door on my apartment house. The rubber is parcially gone on the bottom. Would like to install a new rubber under edge to keep out the cold. I have checked various hardware stores. Problem is that everybody has 36 inches in stock, but cannot find a 40 inch long strip for the bottom of door. A 48 inch would be fine, then i could cut it off. I donot want to use 2-36 inch. This a cob job as far as i am concerned. Can someone please advise where i can find what i am looking for. Thanks

You'll likely have to go to a commercial door company, most residential products are only 36" max. Or try a building products supplier/lumberyard that sells doors. Those are the things I'd do anyway.

You can order it on line here: Pemko door bottoms (http://mostanythinghardware.com/Pemko%20door%20bottoms.asp)

Hmmm...I was thinking more about the slide in type sweeps..or the kind that fit over the bottom of the door.

Gunguy,
I didn't check johnam's link, but Pemco makes (or sells) those too.
slyeastwood will just have to dig around in the site.
PS to slyeastwood -- I'm not sure how or why you arrived at THAT name, BUT YOU BE CARFUL!! I don't know about Stallone, but Clint lives about 70 miles east of me!! His last (as far as I know) kid was born in Redding!! (We got the Hag too -- he's about 5 miles east of me.)
