One of the two original thermostats on my Trane XE 1000 Weathertron Heat Pump (model TWR) will not give the temperature in the house. I would like to fix it or replace it. If I replace it, must I also replace the one upstairs? Is there a particular stat that would be easiest for a diy-er to install? The current model is a BAYSTAT240, model 3AAT80B1A1.

I would suggest the Honeywell RTH7500 or RTH7600 for the retail models.

Pro model are TH8320, or TH6320
