Ok here we go! My furnace (it's old 1975-1980) will kick on and off 6-8 times an hour. I am running a programmable Honeywell RTH230B thermostat and have already changed the cycles per hour to numerous diffrent settings and it hasn't changed anything, and no matter what setting the cycle's are only 6-8 minute cycles. If for instance I had the thermostat set at 68 degrees and it displays that same temperature it still kicks the furnace on and runs. I have tried 2 diffrent thermostat's same model and all and all the wiring is correctly wired and the air filters are new, what do you suggest new wiring from furnace to t-stat or is it in the thermostat or even something on the furnace itself or do i need to hire a HVAC specialist? Please help with any knowledge you have and i greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

What CPH *Cycle per hour are you setting this at? I'd suggest 3.
Did you just put this t-stat on the furnace?
