Hello all. I am looking for some advice on how to measure two angles for a railing that needs to be connected to a post and into a ceiling. I have an idea on how to accomplish this, but i am looking for a easier way. Below is a picture. Thanks!

Assuming that the railing will be parallel to the stringer, set a sliding t-bevel on the top edge of the stringer, and line the blade up plumb with your newel post.
If you don't have a sliding t-bevel, go buy one. They are about $5.

Lay the rail on the treads - against the newel post. Scribe the angle off the newel post onto the rail
