I have installed a new bathroom vanity. It is black mission style with oil rubbed bronze knobs and a one piece off white faux marble countertop/sink. I found a great deal on an oil rubbed bronze faucet. I think it would look great with the vanity but it is hard to match everything.

I have a very nice and expensive polished brass towel bar/toilet paper holder and tub fixtures are chrome. I am having a hard time finding a replacement faucet set for the tub since the tub has no holes for a faucet. Is it OK to mix metal finishes? I'm on a fixed income and don't want to spend any more than I have to but I don't want it to look weird or slapped together either.

Hi Omahan,

This will depend of several items

- Has the tub a curtain or a screen or doors? --> if the tub faucet is not visible, then don't worry about the different finishing
- Are the vanity and accessories very close (visually) with the tub + faucet?

In my opinion, brass and bronze go along just fine, but just one chromed element among the brass and bronze will look a little odd. But again, it depends on the faucet location related with the remaining elements

PS: I saw you message in the Decoration Forum (I am the Mod there too). Yes, there is a Mod in this Forum (it would be me) :D . But even the Forums with / without Mods have lots of very knowledgeable volunteers, you will be in good hands!! :D

The tub has no shower so no door or curtain. The room is 5 X 8. The door is in the 5' west wall to the south end of that wall. The tub is across the east wall. On the north wall next to the tub is the stool and then the vanity. Does that help?

Can you post a picture so we can feel the room?

In order to set an image here follow these easy steps-->
1 - upload your picture to a free online photoalbum like Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/)or Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/) , for example
2 - Look for the link of your picture (usually, photoalbums provide a "link for a forum" script) --> copy the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located),
3 - In the DIY Forum--> Reply post or open a new post--> Press the 'Insert Image' icon above and paste the link--> or type before the URL and after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image
