Just had a roof installed and the exposed side of the roof vent flashing ( the part that acts like a shingle.) Seems a bit loose ( like it was not glued down) Is this normal? Should I caulk the underside with roofing cement to keep the water out when the wind blowns and the rain happens at the same time? Is this normal practice. Some of the exposed vent flashing is nail and some is not. Is does appear that the weather side is nailed downThanks,

J, yes, the lower edge is usually nailed down, but not glued. I would nail them down and put a little roofing tar (not silicone or caulk) on the nail head. That should be enough to keep the water out.
