We are looking at either buying Brookhaven or Omega cabinets. We are going with a contemporary look which will entail solid slab doors. What is better? The Brookhaven which is a veener over MDF or something like that. They are said to stay truer. The Omega door is solid wood but has battens on the inside. Is anyone familiar with either of these doors? Thanks.

Is there no one that knows whether a veneer door or a solid wood door are better when it comes to contemporary slab doors?

As a rule..composite products like MDF are more stable than solid wood. They also can be more susceptible to water and physical damage and may be harder to repair if required.

Most people consider veneer products to be inferior to solid wood. I'm one of them.

I am pretty challenged when it comes to design..I guess I'm just more of a solid wood traditional kinda guy. My wife wants to paint our oak cabinets..and I just can't do it.

Cabinet door are cabinet doors..there are only so many ways they can be made.

Sorry..no direct experience with those brands..but they are no different than many other brands on the market.

And you think that solid is better on a slab rather than veneer?
