I have a strip between my property line fence and my house (runs north to south) about 7 feet across by about 40 feet. I have recently put sod down.
I have three brass popups in the center down the strip, a 1/2 moon pop up at the gate at one end and then two other 360-degree pop ups about every 10 feet further down. The problem is that I cannot seem to get these things set just right as to not hit the house. :confused: When I began the sprinklers were set up right up against the house and were all 1/2 moons, but were always spring the house and rotted the bottom of the T1-11(another story!) so I put them in the middle...still not perfect.

putting a 360 in the middle is indeed impossible to not hit the house, especially with it only being 7' wide. What I suggest instead is putting heads on either side of this path. One row by the house, one row by the fence.
Since this width is shorter than most of the smaller nozzles I suggest a different approach. What you need are nozzles not available at hardware stores. You will want LCS, RCS and SST nozzles.
LCS= left strip
RCS=right strip
SST = side strip
What they do is throw a long ways to the side but not very far in front.
For diagrams, here is a direct link to the brochure from rainbird. Its a PDF document and what you are looking for is on page 3. http://www.rainbird.com/pdf/turf/ts_MPRNozzles.pdf
You will have to find a local irrigation contractor or supply house or order from a company that sells online.
Here is a really crude version of what I am talking about. For 40' wide you will probably want between 3-4 heads per side, depending on how much water you have available, and how they end up spraying once you connect it together.

try a product called funny pipe. also called swing pipe. That you can actually get at hardware stores now, I think. It usually comes in rolls of 50' and you can move a head up to about 20' at MOST with it. The farther you go, the less water and pressure it can supply.
