We purchased our home 3 years ago and found beautiful wood floors under the carpet. A section of the floor (by a door) had water damage - 3-4 foot section. We replaced it and was able to match (almost perfectly) the stain. Since then, the water damage happened again and the same area had to have the sub floor removed - moldy. The floor itself is fine. We had our floors cleaned and the older wood lightened and the repaired area is darker. Is there any way to match the floor stain. Room is very large 18 x 28.

Trying to put the house on the market.

Why not fix the problem so it won't happen again:thinker:, then fix the floor? Is the flooring prefinished or are you finishing it?
