Our home has two condensing units, one of which will continue to run for hours after the indoor temperature reaches the set temp and the air handler turns off. If I go to the thermostat and up the temp setting several degrees after the air handler has shut down, this will shut down the second condensing unit. I noticed this occurring roughly a month ago, and our last electric bill was nearly doubled from the previous. I'm sure this has to do with the one condensing unit running nearly continuously. Any thoughts on the reason for this are greatly appreciated.
