Hi - I have a basement with about 250 sq ft which is angled, ultimately toward a drain (that's no longer there). I want to level it, then put the walls on top. The difference is about 1.5"-1.75" down to zero across about 8'. I'm thinking of using the 40-50 lb bags at one of the big box stores (need to compare prices/brands.. any recommendations?).

I'm reading everywhere that people mix these in 5 gallon buckets.. that seems crazy to me when I need to do it about 30 times for the space I have. I'd like to mix it in my portable cement mixer that does 2 x 80lb bags of concrete quite easily. But the mix is slower, not like a 500-700 rpm drill. Will it still work to use the mixer? Or maybe the mixer + my drill and paddle?

Any other thoughts on this project? I can build a house from the ground up, but am new to floor leveling..

Thanks!
