Hello,

I would like some advice in regard to moving some shrubs and a small ornamental tree.

The shrubs in question have been in the ground 10+ years and include; (2) blue boy or blue prince hollies 4' tall x 3.5' wide, (3) dwarf barberry 1.5 tall x 2' wide.

The tree is a weeping ornamental Cherry and was planted aprox, 3-4 years ago. It's aprox 7' tall with a 7'-8' umbrella.

What I would like to know is whether or not it's practical to move these as opposed to buying new. I will have to hire the job out, but could most likely can find a strong young man who would do the work at a reasonable price.

The pros are these are large, healthy, mature, plants that will fit nicely into my landscape in a different location. The cons are they will involve some cost ($150-$300) to move, there is no quarentee they will survive and I can replace them with new 5 gallon size shrubs (albeit not a large as the ones I have), for $200-$250 at sale prices this time of years and with a guarentee.

Any advice would be appreciated. thank you
