...:wall: I am a total newbie to home repairs, but out of necessity I must begin to learn about fixing my house. My wife and bought an older model home. I feel it was a huge mistake. Either way, we have had ot for 2 years and recently had the foundation leveled. Well, my sheetrock is popping out of place all and all the sheetrock must be replaced. No biggie, I thought....till I removed the sheetrock and found what appears to me as serious termite damage. I have gone from just wanting to add insulation, some sound proofing materials, and sheetrock to now needing to replace a lot of wood in my home. I have pictures for those interested, but I just don't know what to do . And I absolutely must do a bulk of my work myself. No money, no hired help. Here are some links to some pics I took. Any advice would be seriously appreciated. Thanks!

Were the original walls tongue & groove & someone sheet rocked over them? You don't need to replace that wood just because of the termite tracks. I don't see anything else in those pics that would require replacing the wood.

Thanks for responding. Yes, the walls were tongue and grooved with sheetrock placed over them. I don;t know if it is a good idea to remove the the tongue and grooved walls and replace them with just sheetrock and soundboard, or if I should just keep them. What do you think?

Keep the wood for a number of reasons. The first one is you'll kill youself trying to remove it. Add whatever soundboard or sheetrock you want & forget about it.

So I guess I need to get the blown insulation? I really wanted to get the walls insulated, as it has none now. I am going to make this room a home studio, and need soundproofing, insulation, etc. I am even going to get the windows changed for sound.

I would get some opinions on the blown insulation. I haven't heard good things about it.
