We're about to install a 3 ton heat pump and 95% Comfortmaker furnace and replace the 50 foot line set previously installed. The plan is to use a 3/8 x 7/8 x 3/16 x 50B line set.
Question #1:
Is this the correct line size....
and Question #2:
...will this line size (distance) be an issue if we are forced to install this unit at the southeast corner of the house here in southwest Michigan?
This is obviously the hottest exposure we have; yet the only other practical location (shorter distance for the line set) would be directly below a bedroom slider on the eastern side of the house (2nd floor).
Will my less than ideal location and relatively long line set effectively kill my efficiencies in this locale....or are we on the right track?

50 feet is not long. Id go with the size that is recommended by the manufacture.

Thanks...that seems to be the recommended size; yet I have no idea how (or if) placement even effects efficiency...especially with the screwy "hotter than the devil/cold as can be" (with everything in between) weather here in SW Michigan.
Is a bump up in line size or 'ideal' location even a major factor in my locale...or are my concerns unfounded?
