While visiting a friend's summer cottage, to clean our lab's dribble on the floors, we wiped it up with a wet papertowel only to find smudge marks when the sun shined through the window. We tried wiping/buffing with dry cloths, but still the smudge marks remain. Will using the wet swiffer product that is safe for hardwood floors help or do more damage?

Welcome to the forums! The Swiffers will do a decent job and leave minimal residue. I have customers who use them exclusively on their hardwoods and they look as good as when I installed them. Just make sure, as you indicated, that you use the ones for hardwood floors.
