I have an opportunity to purchase a 3-year old Kinetico M-60 Mach Series system along with three filters including a prefilter, UV filter and another unknown. I don't have water test details of how the system was set up other than it was installed on city water of poor quality; heavy, sediment and smelled. The seller is asking $600.00, I would have to uninstall.
I would be installing the system on a drilled well. I've not had my water tested yet. I plan to this week. Its leaving a brownish slightly greenish sediment in toilet bowls after the water has sat over time. The water doesn't smell or taste bad, although if I let the pump cycle and drain from the pump house I do notice a slight sulfur smell.
I'm looking for feedback on the Kinetic system and adaptability to various water treatment. The treads I've read seem to indicate that Kinetico is good reliable equipment. I realize there are risks involved with purchasing used equipment. Any advise on inspecting and evaluating the system would be appreciated also.
