I have a trane weathertron baystat240A thermostat for my trane heatpump. I need help wiring in a honeywell 7500D thermostat. The wires on my old thermostat are on post with the following letters:
R
T
O
G
Y
X2
B
W

Can you tell me which post to use with the new one?

Old----New
R-----R/Rc
T-----Not used
O-----O/B
G-----G
Y-----Y1
X2----E
B-----C
W-----Aux

Then set all heating cycles per hour (CPH) to 3.

There is no Y1...is Y the Y1? and do I leave the jumper between R and RC? What was T used for on the old thermostat?

Yes, just Y. I'm used to it being called Y1.

Leave the jumper in place.

T was outdoor sensor, if it was too cold out, it would turn on the back up heat.

So....will the back up heat still work or are you saying I don't need it?
By the way my heat pump is a Trane XE 1000.

The t-stat will kick in the Aux heat as needed if the heat pump falls behind.

If it gets below 5˚ and it can't keep you and you are seeing the Aux on the screen all the time, then switch over to Emergencey heat.

Also, for heat pump system you are best to set it and forget it. or only do 2 to 3˚ temp set back.. Not 10˚

I need help interpreting the wiring to replace my existing thermostat with a Honeywell RTH7600. I have a Gibson 3 ton heat pump with Residential Thermal Storage aux/emergency heat. The connections on the old unit don't seem to match the installation manual.

Term Wire Color
W White
O Orange
Y Yellow
B Blue
G Green
R Red
X N/C
H N/C
T N/C

I know this is being beaten to death but would appreciate any advice.

What is the make/model of the old t-stat?

I'll have to look it up.

Going back to the original poster...
You must also configure your new stat to match your system.
Option 170 = 7
190 = 0

TPM, was your old stat a Honeywell with a Q674L subbase?

Looks like...
G = green
Rc & R = red
Aux & E = white
C = blue
O/B = orange
Y = yellow

Option 170 = 7
option 190 = 0

Houston,
Yes. There is nothing that says "Honeywell but the subplate is correct.
