Does anyone have any experience cutting cantera tile?I know it is a form of basalt.
I need to cut some rounded corners to go around a fireplace and was wondering if I could use a diamond blade on my jigsaw?

Probably not, as the jigsaw will bounce around and probably crack the tile. You try it though on a scrap piece. Best bet would be a wet saw, or and angle grinder with a diamond blade.:)

Thanks-I will try a scrap piece-I do not have access to a wet saw (we are three hours from the nearest city-Ensenada)

Is there a fabrication shop in the area that could possibly cut them for you? Don't know much about mexico so don't laugh.:p
