Is there any new product out there that will enable some insulation to be added to an existing wallspace that has brick, furring strips, then drywall? I'm guessing there isn't, but hope springs eternal! Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi fs, Not a lot of options when ther is little or no space. I have a link that talks about vapor barriers with such walls that may help you understand some of the limitations. The only product I have read about, and I can't say if it is real, hype, or even available are the beads that are blown in. My reading as I remember says they allow the space to breathe yet provide some insulation. I'll let you do some reading:

BSD-106: Understanding Vapor Barriers — (http://www.buildingscience.com/documents/digests/bsd-106-understanding-vapor-barriers/?full_view=1)
The other solution is to add some rigid insulation over or under the sheetrock on the inside, if you have the space and budget.
Hope this helps,
Bud
