We are replacing little 18 inch bath vanity in the rental and decided to use my dremel multimax tool to notch out a half moon cut from the bottom shelf for the plumbing that comes up from the floor, as well as make notches in the sides to fit it flush against the wall.
It finally happened but it took an hour to just make those 3 cuts! This dremel tool is new to me, and I wonder if someone can recommend a more efficient small tool for cutting through whatever the cabinet is made of (obviously not wood) for the rest of the house. We have to redo both kitchens and the bathroom downstairs eventually.

Depending on space to maneuver, either a sabre saw or a rotozip would give quicker cuts. The proper blade should always be used, and that depends on the material being cut.

I'm sorry I didn't get a sabre saw first, and later on the dremel tool. Well, live and learn. Thanks for the replies!

The Rotozip is a good tool the have for rentals. It is great for vanity sinks plus cutting around electrical boxes in drywall. The saber saw and Sawzall will help with future headaches as well.
