I have berber (light beige color) carpet in my rental condo.

It's been professionally cleaned by ZeroRez whom I like alot because they always do a great job.

BUT,..and they told me this when they cleaned it, because the last tenants had a dog that had darkened an area of the carpet, the stain could be removed, but whenever it got wet outside..or whatever, the stain would come back.

Unless I took the whole room's carpet padding underneath, replaced it and the carpet, too.

Since it's just in one small area in the carpet, is there any way to specially clean that, cut it out and put a piece in to fit??

I charged the last tenants for the professional cleaning, came out of their deposit and I really don't want to replace the whole livingroom/diningroom carpet for that one stain if I don't have to.

Any suggestions??

as for removeing the stain, i have dogs and i have tryed everything to remove there stains and i have had no luck :madhell: you can patch carpet if you have left over rems. Or maby a closet to take a peace from and replace with a close match. if stains are near a wall you could pull carpet back to expose the backing and you will see the stain.Cut a square out of the carpet using a 2' framing square bigger than the stain. it is very important to match the scrap carpet directshion with the dinning room carpet and use new blades for each square. Cut with the framing square on the back side of the scrap peace exactly the size of the patch . if you do not have a hot melt iron duck tape will do, a few rows per side. put back down and you will need a kicker to pin the carpet back on to the tack strip.

Not exactly my field (), but if the stain is leeching up from the pad, perhaps you could cut a flap (3 sides), lift it up, replace that section of the pad, and resecure the flap. That way the carpet won't mismatch. Could also maybe clean the carpet backing. Don't know if any of that is feasible or adviseable. First time I've heard of that. :coffee:
