Afternoon all, I am tiling my bathroom floor and am laying down hardiboard. Do I need to use thinset under the backer board or can I just screw it down to the floor?

Appreciate the help.

You must thinset as well per their instructions. The thinset isn't to secure the board to the floor, but to vill any voids that might be present to reduce flex.

Okay. That explains it. Thanks for the info.
