OK, this was dumb in hindsight, but I set my 27" RCA TV on the love seat while I was moving the entertainment center from one room to another. I didn't want to bend to the floor. I checked that it was stable, and it was. It sat there for maybe an hour and a half while I hooked up my surround sound, then it suddenly toppled to the floor, screen first. :madhell:
There was no apparent physical damage, but whet I plugged it and turned it on everything seemed to work, but the color is all blue and red. Seems like blue around the outside and redder in the center. Graphics that I know are a solid color (like from my Tivo) are now multicolored, gradated from one side to another. the picture also seems a bit fuzzier than it was, but maybe that's just the colors throwing me off.
If I had the cash, I'd take it as an excuse to go get a 42" LCD, but I don't. So, I need to get this fixed, if I can. Not worth taking to a shop, I bet, but I'm willing to try to fix it my self if I can figure out what to do.

A few things could have happened. The yoke on the tube moved,The tube now needs to be degaused,or the mask inside the picture tube seperated. The first 2 are cheap fixes and the last one is not fixable at all.

I read up on degaussing, it should degauss itself each time it turns on when cold, right? It's been powered up and let cool probably 4 times with no improvement.
How do I check the yoke on the tube?

Do you see any green at all? Get close -- use a magnifying glass if you have to -- and you hould see pure red, green, and blue. If you don't see any green, you should choose craftsman_50's third option.
If you do see green, the yoke is the rear of the CRT tube. My RCA's ring magnets broke loose when I moved it upstairs and had to be realigned. I'm a DIYer, not a TV pro like craftsman. It took me a couple of hours of trial & error to get the rings aligned.
