Is there any reason why I shouldn't leave the water in an Intex (blue with air ring around top) pool for the winter? Will it damage the pool in any way? I live in central Indiana.

I don't think it can handle a block of ice...

Why do you think so? Does ice weigh more than water? There is room for the ice to expand upward without pushing the walls outward. What do you think could happen?

what happens is top of pool freezes first creating a top seal. Then when the rest starts freezing and expanding that is where your trouble starts...
