I have berber carpet in my basement - it's about 4 years old - and it has buckled in the middle of the short side of the L and most of the buckle is where the opposing wall is a long way away - i.e. opposite the long part of the L. Another way to describe it is that the carpet needs to be stretched down to the bottom of the L.

I've wondered if I can fix this myself by renting a power stretcher - but it appears that they don't have enough extensions to reach across the 25 feet or so to the opposing wall (the "top" of the L).

I can't imagine that a "kick" stretcher would move that amount of carpet.

Help please? Is there a way that I can do this?

Thanks.
