Toro Recycler walk behind model 20018 serial # 220005564
My rears wheels are rapidly losing the threads. I've looked at the Toro sites and part numbers for front wheels (105-1814) are different than rear wheels (105-3036). But the wheel pictires look identical. Can the drive mechanism (gears etc) within the rears wheels be swapped out and installed on the front (tire rotation?). My old John Deere was set up that way. THANKS!!

I don't know...never tried. Take yours off and look. I doubt it, since I believe the gears are cast as part of the wheel.

As long as the gears on the wheels don't interfere with anything, they should work.

there are no gears on the front wheels so your self propel will not work and that is why the drive wheels cost more. The pins can be removed from the gears and wheels and put into the front wheels but if the gears and pins are not tightly done the drive will not work properly. The art people do not always draw the illustrations correctly.
