I just bought a house that was built in the late 50's. The oven is the chrome oven with the grillevator. The oven seemed to light the main burner before we added a gas line for the outdoor bar-be-que. Now the oven won't turn on the burner. Is there a place I can download an owners manual to see if the settings on the clock and the knob next to it are set correctly as that might interfere with the operation of the oven?

More than likely there is a pilot light and magnet safety that need to be re set since you turned the gas off.

Have you lit the pilot? If not, look around for the pilot burner near the main burner in back.

Once you have the pilot lit, look around for a red button, which might be in the back or in a drawer next to the range.

Push the red button, which will reset the automatic shutoff that prevents the burner from lighting if the pilot goes out.
