I built this cabin with a prow overhang on one of the gable ends. Approximatly 14" (overhang) at the exterior walls and 34" at the center of the dwelling. The 'problem' is that it has metal roofing..... with ridges.....(obviously). Being that the tin is cut at about 12 degrees to follow the overhang....not good.
The rain simply dosen't make it to the bottom of the metal roofing on the prow.
It follows the ridges in the tin......and drips heavy in 4+ spots. I could put gutters on the gable.....but was concerned about esthetics. There is barge capping available.....but that looks like it would only work with tin (roofing) that has not been cut on a angle. I"m thinking I'll have to cut the tin flush with the 2x12 fir facia and add another smaller raised facia....? Pics will explain much better... Thanks.

I'll probably get asked why I have such a shallow pitch on the roof. Certain guidelines/ height restrictions had to be followed when I built it. It's modular.....and can be unbolted in about an hour and be moved if need be. Less legal 'fluff' when it does not exceed 13' 8". Structually, it is overbuilt. Was gonna be a shop to drive a vehicle in.....but.....too nice. Got carried away. Plans always change.....:) I could probably hang 3 tons in the center of the 20 ft span with no deflection........I hope.
Shall see this winter....lol.
