If anyone has experience using metal studs I would appreciate some help. I have bought a new 7x20' flatbed trailer with 2 3500lb axels. I am going to make a concession trailer out of it. I plan on building a 7x12' barn style storage bldg on the front and use the 8' at the rear for my smoker/grill. The barn style roof would cover both the 12' of the bldg and the 8' rear porch. To reduce weight, the bldg would have no floor but be attached to the trailer and use the existing floor of the trailer.
In addition I am considering using metal studs for the sides of the building to reduce weight but I am concerned that metal studs would be strong enough to support the 20' roof system. I can use 4" square aluminum post at the front, rear and midpoint to help provide better support. Any ideas on this will be appreciated. Thank you.

There are many ga. of metal studs out there other what limited stock there is a the big box stores. I suggest going to a commercial construction supplier or drywall supplier to see what else is out there. Light ga. (28ga) metal studs are not structural but are only to build partitions.

Thanks a lot. I had no idea they had different ga's. I'll stay away from the big boxes and go talk to a commercial supply company. Thanks again.
