I'm planning to insulate a detached garage/workshop with unfinished 2x6 walls and 16" stud spacing, T1-11 plywood sheathing/siding and unfinished 2x4 attic joists with a plywood ceiling.
I go to the big boxes and you'd think the only insulation available for walls was fiberglass, plus the blown-in stuff for attics. But I go online and there's a baffling array of other stuff. In addition to the itching, one thing that bugs me is the new "May cause cancer" warning on fiberglass packaging.
Are there viable, readily available alternatives to fiberglass for unfinished walls (batts or rolls I guess) that will be covered by 1/4" pegboard only?
