Friend got up this morning, plugged in his microwave oven and nada zip. All segments of the LED display are lit and flashing but pushing Cancel does nothing. Pressing any button does nothing. It worked with no problem the night before. He always unplugs after use. This occurred when he plugged it in this morning.
I have previously cleared similar problems caused by static build up by unplugging and pressing all buttons to discharge any build up of static electricity but didn't work on his. Got nothing useful with a Google search.
I'm thinking maybe related to the film membrane control panel. since the LED display is lit and flashing but can't be cleared. I'm wondering if the control panel could be the cause and just needs cleaning.
