What are your experiences with Deckmaster?

What do you think about their private label decking material? Thinner (3/4"), pure plastic, stain proof, color stable...according to them.

How do you think their decking material compares to Azek, Trex, and Evergreen. His opinion is theirs is best..of course. His next choice is Evergreen. He recommended against Trex.
What do you think?

Never heard of it.

"...pure plastic..." -- is it cellular core PVC? That's what Azek is, and I know Azek.

I would be concerned about it being only 3/4" thick. Azek is a full inch, and I won't install it on anything more than 14" joist centers. Otherwise, it's VERY stain resistant, virtually scratch proof, color stable, etc.

It's my first choice of decking. Second is Ever Grain.

Deckmaster calims 100% virgin polypropyline with no filler. They install joists 12" on center. They showed us a pieces of materials that the tested for stains and they do stain, according to them. Their test is to soak a piece in grape juice and you can see a definate stain.

This mystery material is made for them by some mystery manufacturer and they are the dealer, they don't sell it to the public. It is also a tounge and groove product installed with hidden screws. They claim that the 3/4" thickness allows for even cooling durning manufacturing resulting in a more consistant final product. They did show a cutaway that proved even color and no air in the product. It is definately a more flixible product than its thicker compeditors, therefore they do joists on 12" centers.

If you noticed that it's definitely more flexible than Azek, then I would probably stay away from it. I'm not sure that a 12" joist spacing would be small enough for it.

I know Azek says their decking is good on a 16" joist spacing, but I noticed that it's too "springy" when I walk on it. Hence I reduced my joist spacing to 14" when using it. (I only weigh about 170 lbs!!)
