Deed is done late at night or early morning. Have not seen the varmint.....yet. We put out sonic/ultrasonic devices with not much success.
It is probably a raccoon. Or skunk. Or possum.
I just read that a small container of household ammonia placed around the lawn will deter raccoons. Any one tried this?
Anyone else have their lawn dug up at night and what did you do about it?
Thanks

ammonia can mimic the scent of urine, and make it hard on animals who depend on smell because ammonia is kind of overpowering. However, ammonia will also dry up rather quickly.
An opposum can also dig up a lawn without leaving tunnels.

I've got moles and gophers doing a number on my lawn this year. Tunnels all over the place. I put down grub control to no avail. Love to catch the little bast**** but almost impossible to do. Any suggestions?

Moles are relatively easy to catch. Bring out your lawn chair and a beverage and watch for the ground moving. Take two sharp shovels and cram one into the tunnel two feet behind and the other shovel at the moving end. Mole is now trapped.
Gophers not so easy. Cram dog poop down their holes. Or Alka-Seltzer or chewing gum. Set off a gas bomb and push fumes deep into their lair with a blower set on idle.
Get a cat.
