hello. i hope i am in the right place here i just joined. i have a rheem electric furnace and i took the blower motor out and hooked it up to my moms furnace till she could get a new motor. i am now installing the furnace in my house and forgot where the wires go. there is a diagram on the door but the colors arnt the same. i am hooking the low wire up where it says the high wire was from the factory and i have the right wire (brown) hooked to the capacitor but the motor shows the white wire as one of the "line wires" and i cant seem to find this on the diagram. so i really just need to know where the white wire goes. then ill be back to figure out the thermostat lol. i knwo the 2 low voltage lines are brown and red i am assuming they are the stat but there are a few more bi-colored wires hanging out with the 2 low voltage wires. thanks in advance for any help. its already getting cold and its just september! brrrr
ps. i cant seem to find where to start a new thread i am sorry for butting in this one. im new.

i have a rheem electric furnace
Model # on this?
the colors arnt the same. i am hooking the low wire up where it says the high wire was from the factory
Was the fan motor changed at one time?
Look at the motor itself, and it will say what color is what.
i am hooking the low wire up where it says the high wire was from the factory
Why you want low wire on to the High?
so i really just need to know where the white wire goes.
White wire should to common, but I don't know what they call it with out seeing the diagram.
then ill be back to figure out the thermostat lol. i knwo the 2 low voltage lines are brown and red i am assuming they are the stat but there are a few more bi-colored wires hanging out with the 2 low voltage wires.
You will need more than just two wires to hook up the t-stat.. Is this air handler jsut heat only or used for heat pump or A/C?

Thank you for the response. the model number is RBHA-17J15SUAA. The motor looks like a replacement. i bought the system used. the motor says replacement parts company on it. The diagram showed the motor being hooked up as high from factory but i wanted to slow it down so figured i could hook the low in the same spot. (The motor has several wires for low, med low, med high and high) the unti has an outdoor unit with it but the lady said the compressor was bad. i removed the a coil for cooling and was just ganna use the heat itself. the elements are built right into the blower unit. kinda fooled me at first because they are hidden. i took the a coil out and mounted it as a downflow unit in the closet to blow the heat down into the ductwork that i made myself out of aluminum. Thanks again.
PS. I still dont see the new thread button? lol sorry.

It must be an older model. I am not able to find a manual on line for this, but if you still have a wire diagram, look to see where the white/common wire goes to.
As i was looking for this model, looks like thee was a recall on this unit.
If you can take a photo or scan the diagram I can take alook for you.

Ok i finally got a camera. I dont know if the images will be good or not. Im quite sure there was only the 2 brown wires to the cap. on the schem it shows an orang one from the board to the cap but it looks as though the motor has been changed out. Ive also took a picture of the thermostat. i think ive figure out which ones go to the outdoor unit which i will not be using for now but dont know what wire goes to what letter on the stat. i hope these pictures are readable if not ill try to take more. hmm it wont let me post attatchments. ill be back shortly with a link to the pics.

I am using 6-2 with ground for wireing to the box. I guess this will be sufficient?

OK I think ive got most of it figured out. To make a long story short. I have a heat pump thermostat but im not hookin up the heat pump at this time. So i guess ill be putting the thermostat on emergency heat?? I have figured out where the green and black wire goes. it goes to the g on the thermostat and the blower relay in the exchanger. I have the red to the r in the stat. I have 2 other wires that go to the outdoor unit taped up because im not using them at this time. I now have 2 wires left, a black and white and a blue and white. each of them go to some sort of relay looking thing and each one of those control 3 heating elements. 6 elements total. I just need to know where these 2 wires go. I have used r and g. I have b, o ,y, w2, x, l and e left this is a rheem stat. any help will be great thanks much. PS I just noiticed the orange common wire that is just hanging out with a wire nut on it. Shall i be needing this one too?

If anyone comes accross this thread and has the same situation as I have, I hooked the blue and white heater relay wire to emergency heat (e) the black and white heater relay to (W2) The brown to (x) the red to (r) the blower motor relay green and black to the (g) and set the thermostat on auto and emergency heat. seams to be working good. Figure ill have a high heat bill till i get the heat pump hooked up. hope i could help someone. thanks
