88 merc 2 stroke tiller model. i get a good piss stream at slow and fast speed for about 10 seconds
then i get about a 6 second span of just sputter, then the 10 seconds of good stream, then the 6 of sputter and this goes on the entire duration of fishing trip.
its the same everytime like clockwork. any ideas ?
been trying to figgure out this dang boats problems all summer :(

It sounds like you are getting air in the water pick up.
The tube from the pump to the motor may be cracked or a O-ring seal for the tube may be twisted or bad.
