Hello,

I purchased a new Visio 32" 1080 LCD TV. It has two sets of inputs for two devices.

I have a Nintendo WII (uses A/V red-white-yellow) connectors on input 1. It works fine.
I connected old Cyberhome DVD player to input 2 using component cable. Only Red and black colors display.
When I try the WII on input 2, I only get black and white. same thing using A/V connector with DVD on input 2.
The DVD player does work fine on input 1 (also on other TV).
When i put a new blu-ray player on input2 using the same component cable, color is fine.
Does anyone have an idea why the input 2 doesn't like the old dvd player and WII?

I spoke to Visio Tech Support and they suggested trying the blu-ray to assure DVD player isn't the problem. So i assume the DVD player is the problem, but the WII doesn't work on input 2 either and that's fairly new.

Thanks for any advice.

Is the player set to Component mode? Some old ones have RGB as well as YcRcB. modes out the RGB connectors. Some might even have RGB only.

I set it up to component the last time I was trying to get it to work. After that, I took off the component cable and just had the A/V cables on it.

When I put the component cable back on last night, it is working!

I noticed in the online manual for the DVD player that it has you connect the cable, set it to component, and then connect the cable. (there must be a disconnect in there somewhere but it wasn't stated)

So the resolution was achieved ... finally! Thanks for your advice.
