Motorcycles, Snowmobiles, Go-Carts, ATV's and Golf Carts - question about charging a battery (small 4 wheeler)

My sons 4 wheeler is having a hard time to start...some times.
Do I put it on 2 amp or 6 amp?
Do I put it on 6 volt or 12 volt?

It's a small battery that has 6 little vent holes.
Maybe 2 amp/ 12 volt????????

Six little vent holes could be twelve volts but the voltage should be printed on the battery.

You can only charge the battery as fast as the mfr recommends.
Are you trying to use an automotive charger?
Deep cycle batteries need a charger designed for deep cycle use.
If yours has a deep cycle switch then it might work but it is possible that two amps will overheat the battery.

You should check to see if you can find the mfr's specs.

Ok, I thought you might have had one of those little toy riders.
It would likely be twelve volts and 2 amps for twelve hours or so should charge it.

The other thing is does the battery turn over the engine and it won't fire or does the battery not have enough power to turn it over?

I've got it on 2 amp and 12 volt charge. 6 holes in the battery; so therefore it should be on 12 volt and 2 amp so that it'll be on a slow trickle charge for 48 hrs. I'll charge it one more day and then tomorrow I should know if it worked.
I think all it needed was just to be charged.

1 day on it should be more than plenty for those small batteries...2 days will probably be way overcharged.
