Roofing, Gutters and Waterproofing - problem with facia

Hi I recently discovered when i moved in that whoever installed the facia put it up slightly too high in the middle, so that there is a valley in the shingles, this is causing water to back up behind the shingles and leak. Is there an easy way to fix this, or do I have to take off the gutter, vinyl facia covering, and the wooden facia board so that I can lower the whole thing? It is only in the middle, right above where the door is. I thought about using some sort of rubber patch so that the water wouldnt get under the shingles, but dont know about looks? any help would be appreciated, thanks jason.

I guess I would take everything off and lower the fasica. Lots of work but that is the correct way to do it. I would not try to fill in the little valley on the roof. It will only make the problem worse down the road. Good Luck

Hi Jason, I was wondering how much of a slope you have on your roof. I can't imagine even 1/2 of lift to the facia causing enough of a back-up to get through the shingles. If it is 2" then ok. Is this a summer issue or winter issue? If a summer issue, then I would be concerned that the shingles are not installed correctly. If winter, then it may be an ice problem.

Hi, not sure of pitch of roof, but the problem is possibly the roof is going down slightly in middle? it doesnt look that way but the facia board going across looks fine. I would say its probably around 1/2 inch or so, the problem is it puddles up and then backs up and gets under the shingles
