I have a troy-bilt 5550 model 01919-1 generator that I left gas in tank for more then a year. Of course it won't start now. I plan on putting in new gas and adding a gas treatment brand name seafoam. Any other advise?

Without trying to be too sarcastic..... learn how to winterize/store engines and other PE properly.

You might want to try draining the bowl on the carb if possible before trying to run it. Later!

Was the tank full and indoors? If so, and if it isn't way more than 1 year old and it's non-ethanol gas, then you may still be able to use it. Smell it. Does it smell like gas or more like paint or some kind of solvent? I'd say you're going to need to clean the carb at minimum, and it's a good chance that's all you'll need.
