I'm moving out of my flat this week and my dark duvet cover and pillow case have stained the wall pretty noticeably. I've tried a cloth and elbow grease but it doesn't seem to be coming off. The wall is magnolia paint over plaster. Any tips?

It was prob. caused by crocking...were the movement of the pillow over the area has caused the transfer... If cleaning failed...then it may need sealed and painted. Of course, your going to end up painting the whole wall and maybe the whole room.

I would try a "magic eraser". Be sure to get the Mr. Clean kind--the generics are worthless. If it doesn't work, you'll still only be out about $3, but I am pretty confident it will work--it did on my walls.

ever tried stuff called crud cutter? (it may be spelled krud kutter- I'm not sure) It worked miracles on my walls and they were pretty filthy. You can normally find it in the home repair aisle in a wal-mart
