Was watching this 4 year old analog 30" KD30XS955 FD Trinitron WEGA Sony TV last night. Wouldn't turn on today. No blinking lights. Nothing. Used an extension cord to run over to another plug. Same problem. Power button seems to stick in if you push too hard.
It was an expensive TV from Best Buy where my son worked. Even with his discount it was expensive. Very nice picture and sound though.
Looks like a power problem. That sound about right? The darn thing weighs about 150 pounds so bringing it in is not likely so a house call is in order. Is this going to be really expensive? Worth it?
Must not have done search right but right below another post says "it has that normal activation click sound you hear when you turn on the power button. Except after that normal sound, it is dead silent." I don't even have the normal activation sound which sounds like a relay - just no picture and dead silence.

If it still had a good picture and sound then its worth fixing.
