I'm not sure if this is the right forum so if not please move.

I have a Cal Spa hot tub that I suspected the heater was bad. I took it apart and measured the resistance of the heater coil and it measured 30 ohms. The hot tub is a bellaire 3000. The heater is 240 volts 5500 watts. It has on the label THB98 SFR.

Does anyone know if that is about the right resistance value?

Thanks

You might try posting your question in the pool and hot tub forum (http://forum.doityourself.com/pools-spas-hot-tubs-54/).

It would be easier to have it installed, verify that 220 volts, 2 legs is powered to it and measure the amps.
